Saturday's heat didn't stop people from flocking to a vintage car show in Penticton.

Hundreds showed up for the 20th annual Rotary Wheels Car Show at Rotary Park.

"I love the location, and there is a lot of fellowship and 100 beautiful vehicles to look at," said Colleen Lister, chair of the car show committee.

The one day event featured vintage cars from Washington, and all over BC, many from right here in the Okanagan.

There was live entertainment with three different bands performing and a beverage garden offered for the first time.

"We licensed the whole park, so people can walk with their wine or beer and enjoy the cars," said Lister.

Trophies are given out in different classes, and the most coveted trophy is the people's choice. There is also the Ken Paton Memorial Trophy, that goes to the most deserving car.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Penticton Okanagan Rotary Club. Funds raised go to local club projects, and they sponsor a $1,500 award for a deserving student enrolled at Okanagan College in the automotive trade.

Visitor Dave Johnston, of Peachland, liked the venue and the fact there were a lot of high quality cars to see.

"There is sun and shade and some very special vehicles," he said.
