Hot weekend of fun

A night market takes place tonight, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gyro Park. It features live music as well as vendors.

The Rotary Wheels Car Show will be held Saturday at Rotary Park, east of the Peach concession on the shores of Okanagan Lake.

The all-day event includes live entertainment, a beverage garden and food and merchandise vendors.

Penticton Speedway hosts the Gordie Mannes Invitational Weekend, with racing starting at 7 p.m.

Saturday will be the streetstock invitational, plus hornets, dwarf cars and a hit-to-pass race.

Sunday includes more streetstock racing, hornets and the "Eve of Destruction" race.

The Ultraman 520K Canada takes place Saturday through Monday. It's a three-day, 520-kilometre individual endurance event.

The Downtown Penticton Association will host a B.C. Day Family Party at Gyro Park on Monday. Entertainment includes belly dancing, alternative music, folk music, zumba, drumming and dancing and more.

FlairFest12, Canada's longest running bartending competition, is on at Barefoot Beach Resort today through Sunday.

The casual competition is more about bragging rights and catching up with industry friends than strict rules and a formal environment, say organizers.
