Search for cube van driver

Police continue to search for a driver who allegedly hit a 43-year-old Lake Country man with a vehicle following an incident on North Glenmore Road, Friday evening.

The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan says the victim was driving a Toyota Highlander southbound on Glenmore when the cube van allegedly starting tailgating.

“At the intersection of Glenmore Road and John Hindle Drive, the 43-year-old driver exited his vehicle and approached the white cube van,” explains Duncan. “The traffic light at the intersection turned green, and the cube van accelerated, striking the 43-year-old (and) knocking him to the ground, where he was run over by the rear duals of the van.”

The van has no markings, and no licence plate was obtained.

The driver is described as male, in his early twenties and with dark hair.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle and driver.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Const. Ron Miciuk at 250-980-5353.
