Spectacular lightning

A spectacular electrical storm system rolled through the Okanagan Sunday night.

Rolling thunder and sheet lightning was spotted all the way from the Lumby area in the north, to Oliver in the south. Lightning strikes sparked at least three wildfires – two small spot fires and one larger blaze near Bear Creek in West Kelowna.

The B.C. Wildfire Service is continuing to fight that fire, and is bracing for more thunder storms in the forecast later today.

Meanwhile, here's a collection of some spectacular lightning photos sent in by our readers.
