It’s been a rough couple of months for the folks at Banner Recreation and Marine.

A 23-foot Campion Biltmore boat, valued at $111,000, was stolen off the Kelowna lot Sunday, sometime between 7:15 and 7:40 a.m. The theft comes after a boat was set on fire at the company's Vernon location in May.

“This is inexcusable. Both shops now have been majorly hit,” said Amanda Jefferson, marketing, reception and social media co-ordinator for Banner. “We’re talking hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

General manager Jeff Schwartz said staff didn't discover the boat was missing until Monday morning.

The boat was made specifically for the Toronto Boat Show, and is one of only five in Western Canada with its particular white and black colour scheme.

The lot is not gated, but all the boats' trailer hitches are locked, and the boats are chained up.

“They cut the chain, to my knowledge, and were able to get the casing off the ball hitch and were able to hook on to it and go,” Jefferson said. “We’ve got it all on tape.”

Staff are currently reviewing the footage with police for any leads and to try to make out the licence plate of the vehicle involved in the theft.

"They're seeing if they can make it bigger, from our camera. From that distance, you couldn't distinguish any numbers from it," Schwartz said.

Call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS with any information on this theft.
