Motorcyclist injured

A motorcyclist was seriously injured July 3 in a collision in Osoyoos, according to the Osoyoos RCMP.

The 56-year-old Osoyoos resident was travelling east on 82nd Avenue when he swerved to avoid a tow truck that was backing out of a driveway.

He was able to avoid the tow truck, yet in doing so lost control of his bike, crashing in the middle of the road.

The motorcyclist was attended to at the scene by Osoyoos Fire Department first responders for a serious leg injury

He was transported to Oliver General Hospital and then airlifted to Kelowna for emergency treatment.

His injuries although serious are not life threatening.
