Kal Lake victim identified

RCMP in Vernon say the death of a man whose body was found in Kalamalka Lake over the weekend was not suspicious.

The victim, now identified as 32-year-old Shane Letkeman, a resident of Lethbridge, Alta., was found in the lake Sunday afternoon.

Police received a call shortly before 2:30 p.m. indicating a body had been located near Cosens Bay.

It is believed Letkeman was with a friend named Curtis Wilson around the time of his death. Wilson's vehicle was found abandoned near Cosens Bay where Letkeman's body was discovered – Wilson has not been seen since. His family is now pleading for help finding him.

An autopsy has determined Letkeman's death was not suspicious in nature. The investigation is now being turned over to the B.C. Coroner's Service.

Letkeman is the fourth person to have died in the Okanagan over the weekend.
