Recent police roadchecks in and around Penticton snared a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
On Saturday, an uninsured vehicle was checked by a South Okanagan Traffic Services member.
That resulted in a four-day investigation and surveillance that led to the location of the man in a rural area between Oliver and Osoyoos.
The 49-year-old is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant on a charge of sexually assaulting a young child.
He was arrested without incident Wednesday evening with the assistance of Osoyoos RCMP members and is being transported back to Calgary for court.
It was the fifth warrant executed as a result of the weekend roadchecks.
