Fined for not paying taxes

Not paying taxes got a Kelowna businessman in hot water.

According to the Canadian Revenue Agency, Charles Gallacher pleaded guilty in Provincial Court to six counts of failing to file tax returns.

The charges stem from his 2010 and 2011 personal income tax returns and corporate income tax returns for his business from 2008 to 2011.

The British Columbia Registrar of Companies shows that his business was dissolved on April 20, 2015.

Gallacher was ordered to pay a fine of $6,000 within one year, and to file the outstanding returns within 60 days.

Gallacher could not be reached for comment on the matter.
