Enderby on silver screen

The tiny community of Enderby is front and centre across North America today.

The North Okanagan municipality was the backdrop for Disney's latest theme inspired movie, Tomorrowland.

The movie, starring George Clooney and Hugh Laurie (House) was filmed in the summer of 2013. Since then, the area has also been the site of Go With Me with Anthony Hopkins, which was filmed last fall, and Numb, which had filming earlier this year.

Tomorrowland is showing at the Galaxy Cinemas in Vernon. It is scheduled to be shown later this summer at the Starlight Drive-In in Enderby.

According to Minister of State for Small Business Naomi Yamamoto, Disney spent nearly $92 million in production costs in B.C. filming Tomorrowland and created 1,800 jobs.
