A young man has died after being hit by a truck Friday night on Highway 3 near Schneider Road in Keremeos.

At 11:03 p.m, a 2012 dark blue Dodge truck was travelling east on the highway when it collided with the unknown man, who was crossing the highway.

The man died as a result of the collision. He was wearing dark clothing and has not yet been identified.

The driver of the truck remained on the scene and was co-operative with police. Alcohol and speed are not a factor.

The man fits the following description:

• Caucasian 
• Approximately 25-30 years of age
• Brown hair, thick and pulled back 
• Wearing black shorts, dark blue Croc shoes, flannel dark brown jacket.

The matter is being investigated by Const. McDiarmid with South Okanagan Traffic Services.
