I scream, you scream...

Scooters Ice Cream has again won a contract to continue providing mobile vending services to several city properties.

The contract is for three years with two-one year options held by the city.

The contract covers mobile vending services for Strathcona Beach, Rotary Beach, Sarson's Beach and Quilchena Park. Scooters will patrol those areas from May 15 to Sept. 15 annually.

The city put the contract out to tender this year with Scooters earning the highest marks among the two acceptable bids received.

Scooters will pay the city $3,500 plus five per cent of gross revenues annually. Previously, the company paid the city a flat rate of $4,500.

Property officer Tammy Abrahamson said financial considerations, Scooters proven record and the community service and give back programs were factors in the winning bid
