Reigning supreme since 1987…’House Of Lords’ began with Lord Gregg Giuffria, ex-Angel keyboardist and Lord James Christian, ex Vocalist for ‘L.A. Rocks’.
Initially signed to one Gene Simmons’ label: Simmons Records, the group’s self-titled debut took the Melodic Rock kingdom by storm. Establishing themselves as an epic band of musicians, the Lords toured incessantly, treating everyone with an enormous sound and amazing vocals from James, which, at times, touched the stratosphere! House Of Lords’ second release ‘Sahara’ further cemented the group, and gained considerable chart success. Again, the Lords took to the road, but after a short tour…disbanded. A year later, (1992), Gregg and James reunited and with a slate of new Lords in waiting…released ‘Demons Down’, a slightly more melodic effort which was received in a lukewarm atmosphere, although the record is a grand display of orchestral rock. Licking their collective wounds, the original line-up began a new campaign in 2000, releasing what has become their most controversial album yet…a combination of the melodic side with a more Progressive feel to it. “Power And Myth” gained momentum, and the group toured throughout North America and Europe. At this time, Gregg Giuffria decided not to tour with the group, although his trademark keyboarding and arranging was dominate throughout the record…James Christian took the lead, with Gregg’s approval, and continued to develop the group, pushing them to a harder edged sound. Recruiting new Lords, James pressed forward, releasing “World Upside Down”, a very powerful statement that raced the charts and found new followers all over the world. Monstrous sounds kept coming forth with “Come to My Kingdom” in 2008…and House Of Lords continued touring relentlessly, both in Europe and the States. 2009 saw the release of “Cartesian Dreams”, …a musical statement that is both majestic and powerful. After spending most of that year touring, House Of Lords went back in to the studio and prepared for what became the critically acclaimed eighth album; ”Big Money” released in September of 2011. Since then, the group toured the globe and James Christian released his third solo album. 2013 saw the group enter the studio and they hunkered down to some serious song writing and have come up with yet another stellar Recorded Work!
“Precious Metal” is ‘House Of Lords’ ninth excursion and James has guided the group back to their roots. Hard hitting, yet melodic, the ninth studio album is custom made for the stages of the world. Armed with a huge sound, ‘House Of Lords’ embarked upon an international tour in 2014. Covering most of the globe, the group enjoyed a very successful string of dates that took them from the UK and Europe to Canada and the United States. Showcasing this big sound of “Precious Metal”, audiences responded most positively and encouraged the group to go forth with confidence. That is just what they have done!
This Summer will see the release of their tenth studio album. Again, released through Frontiers Records, “House Of Lords” will unleash “Indestructible”—now, maybe somewhat of an aggressive statement, but really not so…James Christian explains: “The name ‘Indestructible’ was chosen because we all felt that we have been through a lot in our careers and what better way to say “Hey, I’m still Here” than by giving the cd a bold title”.
The music within?—well, it is bold, and continues forward from what we heard on “Precious Metal”. The group is not only celebrating their tenth release, but also ten years together in this line-up of the group! The album is set for an early June release, worldwide…and another International tour is actually underway! Live shows are already happening in Europe, with North American dates to be announced very shortly. Below is a sneak peek at this fantastic upcoming album…take it away James!
