Okanagan Spirits has completed its new, 16,000-square-foot, state of the art distillery in Vernon.
The craft distillery at 5204 24th Avenue is home to Canada’s tallest copper pot still and includes features such as a 27-foot tasting bar with a "moonshiner shack" theme, theatre room and prohibition-style whisky lounge.
Tours and tastings for the public will start this month, with a ribbon cutting and grand opening on April 24.
The $3-million investment will allow the company to respond to burgeoning demand for its product, which has made a big impact on the world stage with multiple wins at two World Spirit Awards, including earning the world-class distillery distinction.
In addition to 24-foot-tall still, the operation features 1,500- and 2,000-litre copper kettles, and first-class metal whiskey mash tuns.
