Penticton

Free rec classes this week

The Penticton Community Centre is celebrating the return of Try It For Free Week.

The special week kicked off Saturday and lasts until Friday, April 3.

"Try It For Free Week is a great way for the community to check out the new recreation programs and classes available, to see if it's the right fit for them," said Penticton Mayor Andrew Jakubeit.

The fitness room will be available at no charge daily from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. For those new to the room, certified personal trainers will be on hand to provide free advice on Monday, 5-7 p.m., and on Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

There will also be one-on-one training or group sessions available, led by certified personal trainers.

TIFF Week is a great chance to explore the new group fitness schedule.

New this year is Groove N' Loose, designed to improve fitness in a light and easy-to-follow class. Other favourites include Zumba Toning, Belly Dancing for Beginners, Thai Chi and Basic Yoga.

Registration is required for classes and can be done by calling (250) 490-2426.
