A Bit Of What You Fancy

I would like to introduce you to some “GoodFellas”, five seasoned musicians hailing from Kelowna:  What with making the scene in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and right here in Kelowna years ago…Will Hawkins, Cliff Giroux, Rick Berkley, Rick Rock, and Len Cornett have recently teamed up to play and perform the music of their heart.  “GoodFellas” formed in 2013, drawn by their pure love of playing, and have been rehearsing, doing the occasional gig and rehearsing some more!  The lads play a vast variety of styles—putting their unique interpretation on each piece.  Steeped in Southern Rock-I think that is their first love, they also perform material from other legends, like Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Joe Cocker-just to name a few.  An interesting band of musical brothers—they are just as comfortable performing “More Than A Feeling” with feeling and then turning the dial up a couple of notches when they go into “Free Bird”!!  So, do you want a great night out?  A night where you can go down memory lane, dance and boogie with your favourite person and enjoy friends?  Why not hang out with some “GoodFellas”!!  See and hear these five driving Rockers at the Rivals Sports Grill in Kelowna on March 27th!  The Rock begins at 9pm.

2015 may just be the year for “The Answer”!!  These Irish blues-master are about to “Raise A Little Hell”, their new album hitting the streets now!  The album certainly is a hell raiser, and should give this group the boost they need to break out big time!

A couple years ago I wrote about a brash hard rock group called “The Poodles”, kind of a weird name for a metal tinged group of rockers…but nonetheless, these five can rock it!  “Devil In The Details”, their sixth album is about to set sail with an International release!  They are even playing harder, and with more melody than on previous albums—if that is possible!  Superstars in their home of Sweden, “The Poodles” are another group that should get their due in 2015!

Now, here is an album and group that I’ve been anticipating for a long time!  A chance to hear their new singer’s influences on the band as well!  “Nightwish” are finally releasing their latest Opus!  “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” promises to be just that, let’s hope it is as huge as their last album was!!  This record is the first full recording for Vocalist Floor Jansen…seek it out and immerse yourself in the musical genius that is “Nightwish”!
