Thompson Rivers University will be featured on the CBC television show The Nature of Things tonight.

Crews from the show were on campus July 11 last year to collect footage for a piece on Biological Sciences faculty member Naowarat (Ann) Cheeptham’s research, which looks at creating pharmaceutical drugs out of cave bacteria.

Cheeptham is shown in the photo above in the centre, behind the counter.

Filmed at TRU in her microbiology lab, the segment focuses on her research into cave microbes for new antibiotic sources.

The show airs at 8 p.m. Pacific time on CBC.
