Last month, I wrote a little on the upcoming new album from England’s straight-up rockers, Thunder. “Wonder Days” marks their first full album release in six years, and it is a killer! With a history of twenty-five years, and then some—Thunder remain true to their collective musical hearts…creating musical gems that have a long shelve life and inspiring in their lyrical content. “Wonder Days” is no exception—in fact on this collection, we find the group stretching out and tackling some styles that they haven’t explored before. Now, this is not just simply a record release, the group are planning to tour extensively in 2015, bringing this music to the masses! Solidly out of retirement, the sound of Thunder will, no doubt, be heard around the world!
Another group that I have written about in the past, and heaped praises upon in the process is The Answer. This Irish quartet has, since day one, impressed young and old in regards to the purity of their Rock-Blues infused expressions. Opening for the likes of “…The Stones”, to “AC/DC”, The Answer always seemed to be on the verge of hitting the ‘Big Time’.
However over the years, that huge arena rock status seemed to allude them at every turn. Now, just about to release their fifth effort—the group is poised to “Raise A Little Hell”! This collected Work from the Irish blues-masters displays a renewed passion and never say die attitude and execution. The record drips with rock infused blues, and is their most complete recorded work to date! Not unlike Thunder, The Answer are prepared to do the lengthy road work needed to take them over to the next level. They are planning to extensively tour the UK, Europe and a return to North America! Beginning in May, The Answer will touch down on American and Canadian soil before they embark upon the European Summer Festival circuit! The album: “Raise A Little Hell” is out now…
