Kelowna's newest beer festival revealed its lineup on Friday.

Brewer registration for The Great Okanagan Beer Festival closed last night and the list was revealed to Castanet Friday morning. 

More than 35 breweries will be showcasing their products at the inaugural event that will take place in Kelowna. 

Organizer Liam Peyton said he is really excited to see producers of all sizes sign up. 

"There are some Quebec beers and some Ontario beers - there's one from Ontario I didn't even know was available in B.C.," he said. 

The list includes a few newcomers such as Barkerville Brewing, Moody Ales and Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks, as well as better known names such as Tree Brewing, the Cannery, Phillips Brewing and Whistler Brewing.

"I'm really excited to see the Fuggles and Warlock stuff just because the bottle labels are so cool. They're really awesome original standout labels."

Peyton said the weak Canadian dollar wraught some havoc on his list as many American breweries will not be in attendance. 

"All my usuals from the states, The Nevadas, the Deschutes, Gigantics – none of them this year due to budget peel backs and the exchange rate," Peyton said. 

Peyton said the festival is still in the paperwork phase right now, but he is still getting the thumbs up from the liquor board and local government. 

One of the main attractions will be the cask events, being held in Penticton at the new Cannery Brewing and in Kelowna at the Tree Brewing Institute.

The complete event schedule is not yet complete, but Peyton hopes to have the bulk of it available by the time tickets go on sale. 

"Raudz and the Trainstation Pub are setting up some really cool events that just haven't been totally confirmed yet," he said. "That should be firmed up by ticket sale time."

Tickets go on sale next Friday March 6 and will be available through Wet Ape, the GOBF Facebook page and the GOBF website.
