Campaign school for NDP

The BC NDP is looking to modernize its campaign strategy, and will chart a new course in Penticton this weekend.

Hundreds of political volunteers will gather for the campaign training session.

The conference will include presentations by Mitch Stewart and Lynda Tran, strategists for U.S. President Barack Obama, and will focus on the latest tactics in grassroots organizing, data and communications.

The party says in a press release that leader John Horgan is looking to "renew and modernize" the BC NDP "through sophisticated training programs and the use of cutting-edge campaign tactics."

“I’m so excited about this new direction for our party,” said Horgan. “Our 2017 campaign will be led on the ground by a new generation of skilled New Democrats, with new ideas and new energy.”
