The South East District Emergency Response Team (ERT) was utilized in Kamloops, on Friday.
Cst. Jason Epp says, ERT in conjunction with the Kamloops RCMP were conducting operations in the South Kamloops area in relation to an ongoing investigation.
As a result of this investigation several arrests were made.
“ERT was utilized in this operation due to information received relating to weapons being present, that heightened the level of risk to the public and police personnel,” says Epp.
The operation stood down around 8:30 p.m. and there is no further risk to the public, according to Epp.
Police are still investigating and have no further comments at this time.
