Police investigate weekend thefts

Salmon Arm RCMP are investigating a pair of thefts that occurred over the weekend.

Saturday evening, police responded to an alarm at a local computer store located on Highway 1.

Thieves had smashed the front door and made off with several items. Their value has not yet been calculated.

A search of the area did not turn up anything, said Sgt. Andrew Hunter.

The business owner was able to secure the premises.

That afternoon, ramps used for loading snowmobiles were stolen from a utility trailer.

The truck and trailer were parked on the 300 block of Alexander Street, where the driver entered a store for about half an hour. When he returned, the ramps were gone.

Police have no witnesses or suspects at this time.

If anyone has information on either crime, they are asked to call the Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
