Bank robbery at BMO

Kelowna police are searching for a man they say robbed a bank in the Capri Shopping Mall on Tuesday.

They say a lone, male suspect entered the Bank of Montreal armed with a knife around 3:30 p.m.

As he entered, police say the suspect secured the doors with a plastic tie, before jumping over the counter and confronting staff.

He then used the knife to cut the tie as he made his escape on foot.

The suspect is described by witnesses as:

  • Caucasian male
  • Approximately six feet tall
  • Slim build
  • Estimated to be in his late twenties

Police did not say if the man was able to escape with any money.
