The crash took place near a rest stop north of Clinton, BC.
One person had to be taken to hospital after a head-on collision near Clinton on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the crash happened at 4:30 p.m. on Highway 97 near the rest area near Big Bar Hill.
Cst Kris Clark says a semi-truck with a full load of lumber was travelling slowly in the southbound lanes, when a northbound car lost control in the loose snow and crashed head-on into the semi.
“The force of the collision sent the small car over a 25-foot embankment and the driver had to be extracted by the fire department. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
Police say visibility was very poor in the area due to thick fog, and the highway was closed for some time.
