Vernon Mayor-elect, Akbal Mund

No changes in the final order of finish in Vernon's municipal election.

The city made the results of Saturday's vote official on Tuesday morning, which saw Akbal Mund replace outgoing mayor Rob Sawatzky.

Brian Quiring, Bob Spiers, Juliette Cunningham, Catherine Lord, Dalvir Nahal and Scott Anderson were confirmed as councillors.

A total of 9,644 votes were cast between mail-in ballots, advance and election day voting, accounting for 30 per cent of eligible voters.

There were 8,872 votes cast in the last municipal election three years ago.

The new Vernon council will be officially sworn in Monday, Dec. 1 in Council Chambers.
