9:25 a.m. update

Platoon Captain John Kelly with Kelowna Fire Department said "The first arriving crew reported visible flames and smoke coming from two separate entry/exit doorways," in a release.

Four engines, one rescue unit and a command vehicle responded.

Crews gained access to the structure and once the smoke was ventilated, it was determined that the fire was started on the exterior of the building, with some extension into the building.

"The fire was quickly knocked down and no injuries [were] reported."

The cause of the fire is still undetermined.

The Liquid Zoo nightclub is partially damaged after an early morning fire outside the building.

The Zoo is located at 274 Lawrence Ave., there are no reported injuries at this time.

The fire began around 5 a.m. Sunday morning and appears to have been both on Lawrence Avenue and in the alley between the Zoo and the Keg building.

Kelowna RCMP said it appeared as though someone was unhappy with the owner of the Zoo and started fires at both the front and side doors of the same building. Charred wood could be seen at both entrances.

The full extent of the damage to the building is unclear.

The south end of Lawrence between Water Street and Abbott Street is currently closed due to the investigation.

More details to come.
