Bobbitt hearing continues

The dangerous offender/sentencing hearing for David Bobbitt continued in a Penticton courtroom on Monday.

Witnesses regarding two separate incidents in 2007 and 2011 have been heard in previous portions of the hearing in the early summer and then again in September.

This time around, crown counsel Nashina Devji and defence lawyer James Pennington discussed recalling the alleged victim from the 2007 incident to testify, regarding a matter that took place in March of that same year.

That same witness earlier took the stand in the first portion of the hearing. At issue is the woman's credibility.

No charges were laid in the 2007 incident. Bobbitt was charged with a violent assault on a young woman at Dave's Second Hand Store in Penticton in 2011. Her toddler was found unharmed nearby.

He pleaded guilty to the counts he was facing from the 2011 assault, in April of 2013.

The hearing is expected to continue this week.
