No one found in crashed car

Police are looking for answers after a car, reported driving dangerously through Vernon, was found crashed shortly after.

On Sept 28 just after midnight, RCMP received a call of a car speeding through the intersection of 32 Street and 32 Avenue.

“The silver car with two occupants was driving at a high rate of speed nearly hitting a woman in her vehicle, who then called our office,” explains Molendyk. “Then, approximately one and a half hours later, our officers responded to a report of a single vehicle accident at 40 Street and Okanagan Avenue.”

When they arrived police found a significantly damaged silver Honda but no one was in vehicle when police arrived.

“Individuals quite often run away from vehicles like this and leave the scene,” says Molendyk. “A police dog team was called in however they were unable to locate anyone from the vehicle.

Molendyk says the RCMP are continuing their investigation into the crash. The silver Honda was reported missing the next day which officers are also investigating.
