Vehicle crashes

On July 20, the RCMP responded to a report of a collision involving a 2006 Honda van and a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the 4300 block of Black Sage Road.

The 43-year-old female operator of the motorcycle sustained non life threatening injuries and the driver of the Honda van was uninjured. Speed appears to have played some role in this collision. No charges will be pursued by the RCMP.

On July 21, the RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision between a grey Kia Sedona and a red Ford F150 at the intersection of Sumac Street and Road 5.  Investigation showed that the Ford F150 was struck by the Kia Sedona and ended up in an orchard causing about $5,000 damage to the orchard.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene and neither driver received any injuries. Failing to yield to traffic when entering the Highway on the part of the driver of the Kia appears to be the cause of the collision.

On July 22, the RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Highway 97 and Road 3. The investigation showed that the 21-year-old driver appeared to have fallen asleep at the wheel and driven off the road, ending up in the ditch.

Alcohol and speed are not determining factors in this event in which the driver received minor injuries.
