Prolific offender

Vernon RCMP have a prolific offender behind bars.

David McIntosh, 22, was arrested earlier this week following a lengthy pursuit that resulted in damage to three vehicles.

According to police, McIntosh was wanted on an outstanding warrant for three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. Several attempts to arrest him had been unsuccessful.

Tuesday morning, RCMP located McIntosh in a parked vehicle in the 5400 block of 26 Street and again attempted to apprehend him.

Police say he attempted to evade capture and rammed two private vehicles and an unmarked police van to make his escape.

The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later in the 3400 block of 30 Street.

Officers spotted McIntosh in the area of 27 Street and 39 Avenue and, after a short foot pursuit, were able to apprehend him.

Police found quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin on the suspect when he was arrested.

McIntosh has been remanded in custody.

Along with the original charges, police are recommending further charges including:

  • Three more counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Two more counts of Flight from Police
  • One count of Dangerous Driving
  • One count of Breach of a Court Order
