Peaches Geldof inquest to open this week

A full inquest into the death of Peaches Geldof is to begin on Wednesday (07.23.14).

The hearing will be opened at Gravesend Old Town Hall in Kent, South East England, after a preliminary inquest in May, which lasted just ten minutes, revealed heroin could have "played a role" in the star's death.

It is thought the blonde beauty may have died of an overdose, but the hearing this week could determine whether she took her own life three months ago, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.

The body of the TV personality was discovered "slumped over the bed" by her husband Thomas Cohen at the home they shared with their sons Astala, two, and Phaedra, 15 months, in Wrotham, Kent, on April 7.

A post-mortem carried out on April 9 at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford proved to be "inconclusive", so samples of her blood and tissue were sent off to the laboratory for toxicology testing, which later revealed that the Class-A drug had been in her system.

The 25-year-old star's mother Paula Yates also died from the same substance in 2000, leaving behind daughters Peaches, Pixie, Fifi and Tiger-Lily.

Peaches - who had reportedly become increasingly obsessed with her mother's death - was laid to rest at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Davington, Kent, on Easter Sunday (04.21.14).
