Gun fire in East Vancouver - Photo from Saturday's shooting in East Vancouver

A woman is in hospital with serious gunshot wounds after a targeted shooting in east Vancouver.

Vancouver Police Cst. Brian Montague says the woman was hit and a man was slightly injured Sunday evening when their vehicle was peppered with bullets fired from a passing SUV.

The shooting occurred just after 7 p.m. while the victims' vehicle was parked at a gas station (on East Hastings near Vernon Drive.)

Investigators blocked off the area but have not made any arrests.

Montague says although police believe the man and woman were targeted, a motive for the attack has not been determined.

Officers spent Sunday night speaking with witnesses, gathering evidence and canvassing for any video that could identify any suspects.

On Saturday night, also in East Vancouver, a man was shot to death in his home.
