North Okanagan RCMP had the last laugh when a man wearing a “CAN’T STOP THE CROOKS,” was caught red handed.

On April 10, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. a North Okanagan Traffic Member observed a driver talking on his cell phone while driving through Vernon, he pulled him over.

“While the officer was dealing with him it was apparent that this person was active in the drug trade. As the three cell phones he had kept ringing the whole time the officer was dealing with him,” explained RCMP Spokesman Gord Molendyk.

The 23-year-old Armstrong man was arrested for the Possession and Purpose of Trafficking. 

30 grams of Cocaine, some Magic mushrooms, LSD, meth and over $500.00 in cash were seized.

“The officer found it interesting that the man had a jacket in his vehicle which had the letters CSTC in bold print on it. Written under the bold letters was  "CAN'T STOP THE CROOKS,” joked Molendyk.

“We might not be able to stop the crooks, but perhaps we can slow them down a bit and maybe they don’t mind paying for some of their actions,” said the arresting officer in response.

The driver was issued a ticket for being a class 7 novice driver who was on his cell phone and was not displaying the ‘N.’

He received a total of $380 dollars in traffic fines and has been released on a promise to appear for July 10, 2014 to deal with the drug related offences.
