Ham recall due to Listeria contamination

Time to take a look through your kitchen cupboards.

Overwaitea Food Group is recalling Ripple Creek Farm brand Hickory Smoked Spiral Sliced Ham from stores due to possible Listeria contamination.

Consumers are strongly advised not eat this product. If you have this product, it should be thrown out or returned to the store where it was purchased.

Food contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes can appear to be normal but can make you sick. Symptoms include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck sitffness.

Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are at highest risk for serious problems. Death is a possibility in worst cases. Pregnant women may have only mild symptoms, however the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn, or stillbirth.

There have been no reports of illnesses at this point.
