Who are we?
Castanet.net is an online medium for Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon. We offer up-to-date local news, information, classifieds, weather, events, forums, audio, video, and photos and much more. We launched on November 1, 2000.
Until January 29, 2007 we operated in conjuction with our sister operation 101-5 Silk FM. On that date we sold our radio holdings to Standard Radio (now owned by Astral Media). Castanet Media Ltd. continues to be owned by J. Nicholas Frost.

Site technical requirements

Firefox 1.5 or higher for at 800 X 600 screen resolution or better. We attempt to follow the
W3C XML 1.0 Strict and HTML 4.01 Transitional standards as closely as we can on all our pages.
Java: Some parts of our website makes use of Java. If you think you are not seeing all lements of our site, chances are you don't have Java turned on in your browser. To turn on Java in Internet Explorer click TOOLS then OPTIONS then click the ADVANCED TAB. Make sure that "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart)" is checked on. If this doesn't work you need to diagnose the problem further by reading
this article from Microsoft. Alternatively you may need to install a
different version of Java.
