Meet Surf
Surf came from a home with over 30 dogs and is fearful of new situations. She is very friendly and warms up quickly with treats and encouragement and is very food motivated. Surf lived with other dogs and seems to be social with other dogs.
Surf has some fear with day to day things and an adopter would need to help her get over this fear with Animal Kind training and positive encouragement. Surf will also require help with house training as she has never lived in a home before. She looks to people she knows for comfort and is an absolute sweetheart.
Surf also has abnormal knee joints. Her right knee has some developmental abnormalities, and the left knee looks to have been previously fractured and healed abnormally. Whoever adopts Surf will need to work closely with their veterinarian regarding a joint management strategy. Currently she is eating Hills J/D Mobility food, ProFlex Joint Supplements, and will require Cartrephen injections to help her for the rest of her life. She should be kept mobile with daily walk, but hiking and running may be too hard on her joints.
If you are interested in Surf, please come and meet her!
We are open to walk in's Tuesday - Saturday 12 pm -4 pm (except for Stat Holidays).
In order to prepare for your visit, you can submit a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire as well at;
