Callie is looking for her second chance at life! This girl has not had an easy start to her almost 2 year old life, but she still continues to have so much love to give. Callie has missed out on a lot of socialization and training as a puppy. She can become mouthy and jumpy when she gets excited and wants to play. She is not fully house trained, but is doing well with crate training. Typical of her breed she is suspicious and fearful of strangers, so slow introductions when meeting new people is a must. Callie loves making new K9 friends and having play dates but would do best in a home without any other dogs at this time. Due to her past Callie has been working through some resource guarding of food towards other pets, she has shown no signs of guarding towards humans. We are unsure how Callie would be around other small animals or livestock. Callie does have separation anxiety and may chew and eat things when left alone. She will need a guardian that is willing to be patient and help her work through her anxieties slowly. She is currently on daily medication to help manager her anxiety and destructive behaviour.
Callie loves to go out for hikes, she loves car rides, but most of all she loves to curl up on her bed and snuggle up with her favorite humans. Callie is not your typical dog, she has not had an easy life which has resulted in anxious behaviors that we have been working on to help her overcome. She will require an experienced dog owner that is aware and willing to be patient with her as she continues to learn new life skills but in return she will offer endless love to her new guardian.
If you think you could be the right fit for Callie and give her the second chance at the life that she deserves please fill out an application below.
