Are you looking for your Prince Charming? Much like the fairytales, this incredibly sweet but often clumsy boy is looking for love in the form of his forever family. His home should have plenty of love, playtime, and patience as he starts to learn the ropes of good manners.

Puppies need lots of attention and a safe environment for them to grow into great pets. Like any baby, Charming is constantly learning. He will need help to learn the rules in a new house, things like, what to play with, where to go to the bathroom, where to sleep to name a few. He'll need annual health checks with his veterinarian for the rest of his life to keep him in optimum health. Raising a puppy is a big commitment but well worth it when you consider they will be a part of your family for many years.

Charming is going to be a very big boy, so he will need lots of space, and lots of food, to keep him looking and feeling his best. Please research this breed prior to sending in an application.

If you would like to welcome one of our sweet, floppy, clumsy Mastiff puppies into your home, please submit an application to the Shuswap branch! Please note, due to the high number of applications, only approved applicants will be contacted.

Scotch and his furry friends arrived at the BC SPCA Kelowna needing extra care and patience. They've never been inside a house or experienced normal daily life. Scotch is shy at first but warms up quickly, especially with other dogs if introduced properly. Meet Chase

Chase came to the SPCA from an improper breeding situation that left him and his several family members in horrible conditions. Chase is still quite unsure of new people but it has been such a joy watching him slowly but surly blossom into a wonderful dog. Once Chase feels comfortable with new faces he will help himself to all the snuggles. He loves to push his adorable face into our laps and would snuggle all day if possible. Despite being slightly nervous Chase seems to be somewhat well rounded. He is extremely gentle making him a suitable companion for most homes and would be most likely be good with another dog if introduced properly. Chase will need help with leash taring to help build confidence on walks.

Meet Sven! We haven't known him for very long but so far he has a very sweet temperament and a love for cuddles, Sven is eagerly waiting to find his perfect match. He hasn't interacted much with other dogs yet, so we are not sure how he would be with other animals. Sven is a quick learner, though he sometimes confuses "sit" with "lie down" - with patience and treats, he'll get it right. He could use some help with leash manners as he tends to pull quite hard and will need a strong human to take him for walks. If you're seeking a loyal and affectionate companion, consider welcoming Sven into your family!

Meet Habibi, a delightful 8-year-old feline with a heart as sweet as her name suggests. This beautiful lady sports a luscious coat that demands a bit of extra TLC through regular brushing - a task she adores.

Habibi has been spayed and is ready to find her forever home. However, she comes with some special considerations due to her health. Habibi suffers from interstitial cystitis, a condition manageable with the right care. To ensure her well-being, she requires a specialized diet as recommended by a veterinarian.

Given her luxurious fur and health needs, Habibi is best suited to an indoor lifestyle. This will not only protect her coat but also safeguard her health and happiness.

Currently, Habibi is awaiting some dental work, but this doesn't hinder her readiness to join a loving family. She's available for foster-to-adopt for those local to the South Okanagan area.

If you're looking for a loving companion who thrives on affection and companionship, Habibi could be the perfect match for you.

Meet sweet lil Hoover!

Hoover and her 3 sisters came into our care due to an unfortunate circumstance of neglect. They were extremely underweight, stinky, and quite scared of people. Thankfully, with lots of love and care they are starting to gain weight and learn that humans aren't so scary!

These silly pups got their unique vacuum cleaner names because they act like little hungry hippos and try to eat everything in sight. Even things that are NOT edible... but we are working on that with a consistent feeding routine that is predictable for them, but potential adopters should be aware that they will need to be monitored for inappropriate eating habits; ie fabrics and stones, until they are sure they have gotten past this habit.

Hoover is hoping to find a furever home that has the time to teach her a daily routine and help her grow into the beautiful dog she is meant to be! If you have room in your home and heart for Hoover or her sisters, fill in an application today.

Address: 2816 Tranquille Road
Say hello to Cobbler! While her story didn't have the happiest of starts, we are looking to find her happily ever after. She came to us extremely under socialized and lacking many of the life skills a dog of her age should have. She has come a long way in the short while she has been with us, and she will certainly continue to blossom with patience, love, and gentle training. Once she has had some time to adjust to a new environment, Cobbler opens up and shows her outgoing, excited, and playful personality. She is just now discovering the joys of toys and play, and is very interested in making new doggie friends!
Cobbler is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable home - being as under socialized as she is, she will require a lot of patience, training, and an understanding of dog body language and cues. Due to her history, she shows a lot of anxiety and fearfulness and can be easily spooked. It is extremely important that any potential adopter understands this kind of behavioural challenge and is prepared and informed. She needs some help with house training and leash training, but she is learning and improving every day! If you think Cobbler could be a good fit for you please contact the Kamloops branch with any further questions or fill out an application below.

HERMIONE

HERMIONE 2-3 year old female cat. If interested, please text Sarah at 250-215-1750. Spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Vet cost recovery $125. Hermione is an amazing cat, who has overcome many things in her life. When she came to us, she was terrified of humans. After much work with her, she now allows pets, and occasionally treats us with purrs. She will need a very special, and patient forever home, who is willing to let her realize that people are good and safe. Hermione will need to be your only pet, and a smaller place (like a condo or townhouse) is preferred over a large space. Hermione will be the greatest forever and loyal companion to whoever is willing to give her a chance, and allow her plenty of time and space to trust you. She is very petite, and doesn’t quite understand how to show when she’s had enough snuggles, so she would be best fit in a home with only adults, or older children as she will nip (not bite) and occasionally hiss. She very much enjoys a cat tree with a nook where she can hide and watch her surroundings. Currently, she is experiencing a slight allergic reaction, so whoever adopts this beautiful lady will need to be patient with working through a diet, and be okay with her over grooming a bit until we figure out what serves her best. If you are willing to give an amazing cat a chance, please reach out to Sarah to chat through more specifics. Meet Charles!

Charles was in foster care for a few weeks but sadly had to be returned due to his strong prey drive towards cats. He is a sweetheart who knows a few basic commands. He's full of energy and would do best in an active home. He would likely make a great walking/hiking or adventure partner. Charles loves cuddles, snuggles, treats and, yes, some fruits and veggies - but definitely NOT cats. He is smart, food motivated and a quick learner. He loves his cuddle time and tug of war. He's a bundle of joy waiting to bring love and happiness into his furever home. He got along well with the resident foster dog, so if you currently have a dog, we would require them to meet here prior to making that all important adoption decision.

The Foster Family has provided a comprehensive narrative on Charles' personality while in their care. We will gladly have you read it when you visit with him here at the Shelter.

If you are interested in Charles, please submit an application to:

BLAKY 5 year old female cat. Contact Sarah in Kelowna 250-317-3398. Spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Vet cost recovery $125. Blaky is a sweet girl, she was abandoned at the side of the road with a ‘free’ sign on her carrier. She was infixed and quite weak when she first got to her foster’s place but is all better now. She is slow to warm up, and enjoys a quiet space without loud or sudden noises. She needs some patience to get to know you and may hiss at you if you pat her in the wrong spot. However she’s improving all the time and becoming more and more comfortable with patting as she gains trust. She loves to nose her way under the covers and have a long day sleep. She appreciates having a loving home and attention, but she’s probably best in a home without children or other pets. She’s looking for her forever home where she can feel secure and wanted for the rest of her days!
