This is Zara. Zara came to us as a stray so unfortunately we don't know her history. It's clear she has been loved at some point, she's extremely friendly and silky smooth. Her relationship with other cats here has been hit or miss so it is hard to say whether she would suit a home with other cats. Zara is a busy girl and loves to spend time rubbing against your legs and asking for attention. Zara is a young cat and lately has been showing us a lot of her playful side. If you're interested in meeting Zara please fill out an online application.**In order to protect the health of our staff, volunteers and members of the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, we've made changes to our adoption process.1. Olive was surrendered to the Kamloops SPCA because she kept wandering off. She is a large, friendly dog who is used to being indoors and outdoors but primarily outdoors. She rides well in vehicles and likes to go on outings. She knows basic obedience such as "sit". Due to her tendency for wandering she will need a home with a secure yard and guardian who can keep her busy so she doesn't get bored and into trouble by wandering off. Typical of Great Pyrenees, she is free thinking and can be stubborn at times. For example, she has her own idea of which direction to go when out on a walk with a guardian. Being a big dog, she will drag you along if you're at the other end of the leash if she wants to go somewhere. Olive will require a confident guardian, preferably one with breed experience. Great Pyrenees require gentle, but firm and consistent training. They respond to encouragement and positive rewards. Being a guardian breed, they can be suspicious of strangers but are gentle, affectionate, and very loyal to their families. Olive is looking for a guardian who can spend lots of time with her. With time and patience, Olive will be a loyal companion to a lucky guardian! Due to Covid 19 we've made changes to our adoption process. To adopt please:1. Submit an online application at: spca.bc.ca/adoption/application-forms/2. If it's a match, staff will contact you to set-up an appointment to come in for a visit.**We often receive many applications for an available animal. We do our best to respond, although are not always able to respond to all applicants. We will reach out to the approved adopter only.

Meet Chief!Chief came to the BC SPCA Kelowna Branch when his owner was no longer able to care for him. He is a favourite of our Volunteer Dog Walkers because he has excellent leash manners. Being a large Husky, Chief would require a lot of daily exercise and would make an excellent running or hiking partner. Chief enjoys playing around in the backyard and settles down very easily. He grew up with older children, but we would require all family members to attend his Meet and Greet before making any adoption decisions. If you would like to add Chief to your family, please complete an application at the link below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kelowna/

This is Amelia. Amelia came to us in a group of 7 cats and we unfortunately don't know their history. For whatever reason, Amelia was the most socialized of the 7 and is quite cuddly. She adores a squishy bed and being "tucked in", so we think a home where she could cuddle up to her people at night and get lots of love would suit her. Amelia is young and shows a playful side too, she quite enjoys her toys and scratch post. Because Amelia has spent her whole life around cats we think a home with a feline friend would be great - she often naps with her sister here at the branch. Amelia won't be getting spayed until June 1st, but should be ready to go home soon after that.If you're interested in Amelia, please contact the Shuswap BC SPCA or fill out an online application.**In order to protect the health of our staff, volunteers and members of the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, we've made changes to our adoption process.1. Meet Luna: This sweet girl is deaf, and is currently learning hand signs for "Sit", "Stop" and "Lay". We are working with her on being more comfortable with a leash and harness as she can become quite overwhelmed.Luna is highly excitable and can be mouthy, so a home with no small children or cats would be best. She seems to be selective on which dogs she likes, and due to her exuberant personality, a meet and greet with a potential future fur-sibling would be needed. Luna thoroughly enjoys lots of time in the yard but she would be just as happy hanging out with her new family inside. Meet Will! Now he may be nine years old but you could never tell, this senior gentlemen still carries a lot of pep in his step! Will is looking for an active home that can take him on lots of adventures. Will LOVES fetch and would chase the ball all day if he could. Classic to his bread he can become anxious or overstimulated when left alone which may result in him barking/howling/or excessively panting. Will can sometimes become overwhelmed in confined spaces. He has lived with other dogs however can be timid when meeting dogs for the first time, we suggest slow introductions so he can make friends at his own pace. We are not sure how he would do with small kids, cats, or small animals. With the right amount of adventures to tire him out, toys/puzzle feeders to keep his mind busy, and lots of love and patience, Will will make an excellent addition to the family. Due to Covid 19 we've made changes to our adoption process. To adopt please:1. Submit an online application at: spca.bc.ca/adoption/application-forms/2. This sweet and shy boy is Bravo. He's a little under socialized and is fearful when meeting new people. He will do best in a quieter house where someone will be patient with him and show lots of love and affection. Because he is fearful of strangers and loud noises he needs a home with no young children. Bravo has done amazing at learning at wear a collar and walking on a leash. Once he's warmed up to people he loves quiet sitting time now but we can see him enjoying hikes and other adventures in the near future. Bravo does need slow introductions when meeting other dogs as he gets quickly intimated by them. He will require a home with no small animals (i.e cats, chickens etc.) Bravo has so much potential! and we know he will melt your heart like he has melted ours here.A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal to ensure success in the new home. Likes: Window sill surfing, a predictable routine, being under furniture.Dislikes: Change, not being able to hide when she becomes overwhelmed.About me: Spirit came to us when she was found abandoned in an apartment suite. She is a very sweet cat who appreciates her surroundings to be calm and quiet. In foster care she did hide under the couch for the first couple of days, so she may exhibit that behavior at first until she adjusts to her new home (although she 'hid' within reach right at the edge so she could roll onto her back for tummy rubs). While we are still getting to know her preferences, we do know she likes to be with people once she feels secure, and is appreciative of chin and cheek massages. She will also sleep with you at night offering her calming purrs. Spirit is really a lovely cat who will be an amazing companion with her charming personality. If you are looking for a soft spoken house panther to share your life with, please consider Spirit!https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-kelowna/

“MARMALADE”is a 3 year old long-haired female, and is the sweetest, cuddliest cat. Contact Ravneet in Penticton 6043686809. She loves being carried, getting cuddles, and sitting in your lap. When she is not napping, she craves attention and loves to be around people. She would be great for someone who is looking for a sweet and cuddly lap cat companion. She is being fostered in a home with another cat and dog and tolerates them, but is not a huge fan, so is probably better suited to a home where she is the only pet. Meet bear, he is a Irish Wolf Hound Crossed with a German Shepard who is looking for his forever home. He was originally living in the Northwest Territories before making the journey to Kamloops. Bear is looking for an adopter who is knowledgeable on his breed and has a large fenced backyard as he can and has jumped a 5ft fence. If you are knowledgeable on Bear's breeds, you know that they are patient, loyal, and sweet-tempered. He loves to play fetch and frequently gets the zoomies! His breed has a history of a high prey drive so a home without small animals is required. He has an allergy to chicken and requires a special diet. Given that he was from NWT, he is used to having lots of property to explore, so Bear is looking for adopters who have a large fenced yard and will take him on lots of adventures! Bear is a very intelligent boy: he knows how to sit, lay down, heel, and shake both paws. He loves to wind down in his wire crate and enjoys car rides. All he needs is a new best friend, could it be you?Due to Covid 19 we've made changes to our adoption process. To adopt please:1. Legolas is a shy little cutie from a large litter - 10 kittens, that were rescued from a hoarding situation. As a result, he is somewhat under-socialized and nervous and will need a gentle introduction and time to adjust to his new home. He would likely do best in a home with no small children, a fairly calm atmosphere, with a guardian(s) with lots of time to dedicate to helping him settle in and building up his confidence. With lots of love, enrichment, and playtime Legolas will certainly blossom. Loud noises and lots of activity make this little one nervous. He might do well with another cat, and maybe even a calm dog, to show him the ropes, as long as they can be introduced slowly and the other animal is not annoyed by a bouncy baby. If you have time, patience, and love to give to Legolas, he looks forward to meeting you! A kitten is a lifetime commitment and will reward an adopter with a life of love. An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, our adoption process has changed. Potato is a sweet and playful little guy who had a rough start to his young life. He will need to be in a solo dog home as he has some dog reactivity issues. Unknown with cats, and ideally no small children under 10yrs old. He has learned a lot in his few months since leaving Mexico, but he still has some work to do. He is a clever, kind and loyal companion who enjoys playing with toys, moderately active activities such as walks and short hikes. At the end of the day he loves to snuggle and relax with his human (if he's allowed, he never says no to some sofa or bed snuggles). He is a quick learner, loves his toys, he's learning to fetch and walks well on a leash. He is crate trained but is also happy to sleep with his humans. He had spent some time at a daycare too where he really enjoyed learning to socialize with other dogs at a distance for now. He can be distrustful of men; prefers women so far but with slow introductions and positive reinforcement he should adjust. Our staff can help you with that. This sweet loving boy is looking for his forever home, a fenced yard would be ideal, and lots of love to give him as he navigates his new life.
